Members of the Syria Mother Assembly MSA media committee agreed during their meeting held on March 4, 2017 , to develop a reality for the desired media in Syria aftermath the crisis , through structuring of all media institutions , taking into account the different aspects of media trends including state, private and joint media .
MSA President Dr. Mahmud al-Irk called for drawing media studies that improve the Syrian media, with a view that there are institutions for Strategic Studies such as the Carter Foundation that try to fill the vacuum , using the “governance”, concept to establish a media guidance path, that monitor even the “Constitution,” noting that the situation in our country under the crisis should not only be diagnosed but needs to be changed and dealt with.
Discussions focused on the drastic reality of the Syrian media , as a result of the repercussions of the crisis and that there is a need for expertise and specialization for media advancement. “We have the possibility,” but we lack the will and sincerity, with emphasis on masses weak response and interaction with the media , due to the lack of credibility and failure in reporting in many cases, with emphasis that media should reflect hopes of the audience , and must be true, and realistic.
Discussions stressed that the Syrian media role should not be confined to deal with current developments , rather must be a setup for Syria’s reconstruction to better than it was before the crisis, with an emphasis on eliminating claims and pretensions of foreign powers to impose their vision, and that Syria to be for all Syrians, to stop every reason aiming to destroy Syria and plunder its resources.
The participants agreed that the media committee’s next meeting will be on March 25th.
