In its meeting at MSA headquarters on 7/5/2018, MSA scientific committee discussed the proposed smart city project on scientific and cultural bases.
Speaking at the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud al- Irk noted the importance of specialized scientific lectures in the field of high technologies, especially the bi- monthly lectures held at the Damascus headquarters of the Engineers Union in focusing on nanotechnology and the importance of its application and use in all fields. He said that MSA will issue a book of nanotechnology, including all researches presented in phases I and II of the MSA nanotechnology program.
For her part, Dr. Ghada Dhem talked about underway preparations for the third stage lectures that will be delivered after the holy month of Ramadan, and will focus on biotechnology.
Dr. Yomen Attassi and Dr. Yanal Kodsi presented a project proposal for the investment of hydrogel materials to improve the quality of agricultural production.
Members of the committee, for their part, spoke about Aquaculture, the production of biogas and how to use it for energy.
Also Dr. Atassi and Dr. Mustafa Elewi talked about the importance of establishing a scientific research center for MSA proposed smart city project, on a highly efficient bases, in parallel with all international scientific developments, ready to coordinate and link university students to provide scientific research at the center.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. al-Irk asked members of the Scientific Committee to conduct a study for establishing a research center for the smart city, covering specialized applied researches.
