President of Mother Syria Assembly (MSA) Dr. Mahmoud al-Irk , said that the Czech Republic’s position on the Syrian crisis, keeping its embassy in Damascus and its sincere desire to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis appreciated and respected by the Syrian people.
During his meeting on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 with the Czech Ambassador in Damascus, Ms. Eva Filipe, together with a delegation representing MSA Dr. al-Irk spoke about MSA objectives and vision to promote Syria in all political, social and economic fields. He pointed out that MSA is a manifestation of genuine opposition that seeks to build and correct the country ‘s administration in the right direction and to have Syria better than it was before the crisis.
He indicated MSA’s activities at the cultural, social and economic levels, noting in particular to the recent preparatory conference on good governance, which was attended by a large number of prominent economic figures and ended up with the formation of committees to prepare for the launching of the Economic Governance and Good Governance for Future Syria”, which will be convened in Damascus next August.
He hoped that the Czech Republic should have a role in finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis, in its capacity as an EU member state and of influential opinion in its decisions.
In turn, Ambassador Filipe expressed admiration for MSA objectives and activities and showed readiness to provide all that can contribute to achieving MSA objectives and expanding its role within the Syrian society
The ambassador pointed out that her country has taken a different decision from that of the European Union concerning the Syrian issue, especially with regard to assisting the Syrians inside Syria, noting that an integrated program of humanitarian aid, relief and development projects has been put forward. She expressed hope to end the suffering of the Syrian people and her country to play a role in the field of reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Syrian institutions and to participate in economic projects that will contribute to Syria’s growth and development.
