Mother Syria Assembly, represented by its President Dr. Mahmoud al-Irk has extended a message to the UN Secretary-General . The message reads as follows:
Today, great powers, led by the USA, boast their military and destructive capabilities, a fact manifested in their recent attempts to impose their hegemony on the world and oppression over its people.
Though greatness of nations is measured by their scientific and intellectual achievements and commitment to human rights of justice and dignity, however, a policy of hegemony adopted by certain Western countries today is overwhelming, and military force has become the norm, in violation to the UN Charter.
Everyone is talking about the end of the UN humanitarian role in the world and that it has become a cover for the arrogance of certain world major powers.
While condemning the American threats to use military force to strike Syria in a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, we, in Mother Syria Assembly ( a Syrian civil society) strongly support inviting the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to send a team to investigate allegations of a chemical attack, carried out by the Syrian government in the Eastern Ghouta town of Douma on 8/4/2018.
AS a guardian of the UN Charter, we are all hope that you will have a firm moral and humanitarian position against what contravenes this Charter and the international humanitarian law.
Mother Syria Assembly President
Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed al-Irk
